Here, we’ve compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about our Sarasota fishing charters, including details on booking, what to bring, and what to expect on the water.
Whether you’re a first-time guest or a seasoned angler, this guide will help you prepare for an unforgettable experience with us.
Pickup times will vary depending on the type and length of charter as well as our goals for the day.
Your Captain will speak with you directly the day before your trip to coordinate meeting time, location and what your goals are for your charter experience.
We understand that things happen!
So, in the event that you need to cancel your fishing charter with us, we only ask that you provide us with 48 hours notice of cancellation and will provide a full refund.
There are no refunds inside of 48 hours.
We fish rain or shine, however we want everyone to be safe.
In the event that your Captain chooses to call off your fishing charter due to poor weather or other conditions which might make your trip unsafe, we’ll do our best to reschedule your charter.
If for travel or other reasons you are unable to reschedule with us, we’ll provide a 100% refund for any amounts previously paid.
Because our charters depart from many locations and boat rams, your Captain will arrange a meeting place and time with you the day prior to your trip.
He’ll be speaking with you directly by phone and provide any details needed to make your charter experience run smoothly.
We target a number of local saltwater gamefish on our charters and depending on the charter type, these are some of our most frequent catches:
- Snook
- Redfish
- Tarpon
- Snapper
- Barracuda
- Grouper
- And more…
Of course, if you have specific goals for your charter – please let your Captain know prior to the day of your charter!
Yes, however keeping different fish species may be seasonal – so ask your Captain which fish can be kept at the time of your charter.
Your Captain will clean your fish and even recommend restaurants that will cook your fresh catch for you!
Nope!
Your Charter has all of the licenses and permits you’ll need for your fishing charter and are included for your trip.
Yes. We even supply an iced-down cooler to keep your drinks chilly!
We just ask that you drink responsibly and leave the glass containers at home.
You’ll be fishing from Teal Water Charter Company’s Sea Cat 260.
The Boat includes:
- Livewell for keeping bait alive and fresh
- Cooler for drinks and snacks
- Ample space for 6 guests to be comfortable and safe
Maximum number of guests is 6 (plus your Captain).

If you’re on a charter with us and would like to extend your trip…we’ll be happy to accommodate as long as our booking calendar allows.

Captain Kevin made sure to check in with us before our trip & gave us tips on how to avoid motion sickness (our biggest concern). The day of, we were greeted with great hospitality & kindness. Went over some boat safety & went into the Gulf. Towards the end of our trip, we were able to catch a permit fish with Kevin’s help. He did all he could to ensure we had a solid catch for the day! We took our fresh fish over to Walt’s Fish Market right after docking and we were able to enjoy our catch of the day. The captain was outstanding—knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and worked hard to put us on the fish all day long. The fishing was incredible. We caught permit, snapper, and plenty of other fish, and the captain always knew exactly where to go to keep the action going. His experience and local knowledge really showed. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making for a great experience from start to finish. My husband and I brought our 5 and 7 year old boys, and it could not have been a better experience for our family. Kevin went out of his way to make sure our boys were involved, excited, and successful—helping them reel in fish, and keeping things fun the entire time. It meant so much to see how engaged and happy our kids were. The captain was knowledgeable and made us feel completely safe and comfortable, and the whole trip was smooth, well-organized, and relaxing. We caught fish, made great memories, and had a lot of laughs along the way. If you’re considering a family-friendly fishing charter, especially with young kids, I cannot recommend this one enough.
